The family announces the passing of Timothy J. Tierney of West Hartford, Connecticut on October 2, 2026. Timothy, born on February 13, 1947 in Hartford, Connecticut, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. Timothy will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Timothy by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Timothy is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Timothy’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick J. Tierney, Sr. and Dorothy Tierney (Kealey); and his brother Patrick Tierney. He is survived by: his wife Lynn "Love" Tierney (Kopek); his siblings, Michael Tierney and Dorothy Kerrigan of West Hartford; and his sister-in-law Kathleen Tierney. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; 35 grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and three great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Peter Claver (47 Pleasant St, West Hartford, CT 06107). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:15 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (200 Whitman Ave, West Hartford, CT 06107).
