Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Grace Torino of West Haven, Connecticut, who passed away at the age of 99, on July 24, 2025. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Grace may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mario Maltese and Giovanna Maltese (Bua); and her husband Alfred Torino. She is survived by: her daughters, Catherine Baylis (Peter) and Giovanna Marcello (Leonard); her nephew David Maltese; her grandchildren, Allison (Elliott), Robert (Ivana), Timothy, Ariana (Stephen) and Matthew; and her close friend Ann Sorbo. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the West Haven Funeral Home (662 Savin Ave, West Haven, CT 06516). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Of St. John Xxiii Parish (300 Captain Thomas Blvd, West Haven, CT 06516).
