It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard C. Powell of West Haven, Connecticut, born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Powell and Harriet Lemon Powell; his brother George Powell; his father-in-law Patrick O'Neill; and his brother-in-law P. T. O'Neill.

He is survived by: his wife Leah Powell; his children, Raquel Powell, Howard Hendrix Powell, James Hoskie, Rachid Gatling, Chad James, Tywan Moreau, Tamika Miller, Ashonte Ferreira and Dylan Chase; his siblings, Florence Taylor, Julius Powell and Sally McAfee; his mother-in-law AnnMarie O'Neill; and his in-laws, Deborah, Bill Ridge, Maria, Tom Paine, Deirdre O'Neill, Thomas, Kerri, Jekeitta Powell and Tisch Powell.
