It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Loyel Downer (West Haven, Connecticut), who passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Dave Downer; his parents, Matabel Johnson (Lisa) and Cecil Downer; and his siblings, Cassidy and Jimmy Walcott.
He is survived by: his wife Lady Sophia Downer; his children, Nadine Downer, Alvin Downer (Demeris), Raymond Downer, Dwight Downer, Karena Downer, Norman Downer (Kia) and Desmond Downer; his brother Wycliffe Brown; and his children, Calisa Kennedy, Nicole Moodie and Shane Allan.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Christian Fellowship Church of God (600 Jones Hill Rd, West Haven, CT 06516). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
