He was predeceased by: his brother Donald; and his niece Mona Winston. He is survived by: his close friend Gail; his children, Karen Winston (Bruce Nohe), Lauren MacNeill (Neil) and Andrew Winston (Christine); his grandchildren, Daniel Norman (Maddie Anthony), Julia Norman (Kyle Solomon), Joshua Winston, Jacob Winston and Benjamin MacNeill; his friends, Walter, Lenny, Howard and Marty; and his nieces, Robin and Alyse Winston.
