He was predeceased by : his parents, George Mougias and Anna Mougias (Hantzaris); and his brother Konstantinos. He is survived by : his wife Roula Mougias (Andronis); his daughters, Anna Ahmad (Omar) and Anastasia Kyprillis (John); his granddaughter Alexandra of Wethersfield; and his sister Anna Mougias of Greece.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in John's memory.
