He is survived by: his wife Ruth Fanelli Hamel; his children, Robert Hamel (Diana) of Newington, CT, Richard Hamel (Shirley) of Anderson, SC, Rita Heinze (Edward Heinze) and Roberta Mitney (Tom) of Bedford, VA; and his sister Mary Ann Rocheleau of Wethersfield, CT.. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
