Benedetto Mazzucco Obituary
Benedetto (Ben) Mazzucco, 79 passed away peacefully on December 24th 2025 in Wilton Connecticut surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Minturno, Italy where he graduated high school and later came the United States where he met the love of his life Flora Leopardi and immigrated to the U.S. He married and raised his family in Wilton Connecticut.
He continued his education and worked for the majority of his career in finance for a multinational corporation. Ben maintained strong ties to his Italian and U.S. communities throughout his life. He found joy in simple pleasures and valued time spent with his family and those closest to him whether playing soccer, pickleball, basketball or riding on his Harley. Ben embraced every moment that brought people together and spent part of the time in Italy and part of his time in Wilton. He was a devoted father to his daughters LoriAnn Turtiainen and Loredana Durlester (late son in law Heath Durlester) and Nonno to his grandchildren, Anna, Victoria, Ryan, Noah, and Cara. His love for them was reflected in the time they shared, the attention and care he gave them and the many memories they built together. Ben also shared a bond with his siblings; Tony, Frances, Rosetta and Lina with whom he held a special place in his heart. His extended family (nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws) as well as his many friends added immense joy to his life. Ben was preceded in death by his wife Flora Mazzucco who he will join in the family chapel in Minturno Italy.
Ben's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ben enjoyed athletics and played soccer since he was a youth and continued into adulthood where he was at one time a captain of a Connecticut State Men's Senior team the Connecticut United. He also played for Club Napoli for many years as well as participated and was a referee for the Wilton Soccer Association and the Weston Soccer Association. Most recently he was also was an avid pickleball player and made many friends through the sport. Ben was an active member of the community and participated in many clubs and organizations such as Treasurer and soccer player for the Minturnese Club in Stamford, CT, a volunteer for Wilton Stay at Home an actively supported the Town of Wilton and the Wilton Police Department.
May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and peace to those who mourn his passing.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial service at 11AM on Wednesday December 31st 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton.
