Paul J. Hughes Obituary

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Paul J Hughes passed away at Wilton Meadows on April 11, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Silvia (Cimmino) Hughes and predeceased by his brothers Christopher and Brian. Paul earned his bachelor's and master's degree from Fairfield University, and served with the Air National Guard of New York and United States Air Force.

An expert in direct marketing, he worked in management positions at SNET and then formed The Hughes Agency, an award-winning advertising agency serving clients including Mystic Seaport, Subaru, and Timex. He then pursued a career in academia at Norwalk Community College where he taught classes in sales and marketing, which he said was the most fulfilling job of his career. As an educator, Paul wrote a guide to inspire underachieving students, Change Your Grades, Change Your Life.

He retired as a real estate agent focused on the Fairfield County area. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Teresa of 36 years, his children, Corrine Jackson and Brandt Hughes, and his grandchildren Caleb and Margaux Jackson and Nicholas and Scarlett Hughes. Paul enjoyed tennis and golf, and remained in excellent health throughout most of his 79 years.

He will be missed by his family and friends, who will remember him with fondness for his warmth, vigor, and love of life. A prayer service for Paul will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 11 A.M., at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850. The family requests that contributions in Paul's memory be made to Waveny Visiting Nurses and Hospice, 22 Danbury Road, Wilton, Ct 06897.
