She was predeceased by: her parents, Rita Millerd Risley (Reet) and Robert J. Millerd. She is survived by: her husband Brian Pinney; her sons, Joseph of New York, NY and Matthew of Mansfield, CT; and her siblings, Jan Murphy of Yorktown Heights, NY, Robert Millerd (Nancy) of Columbia, CT and Kenneth (Tammy Sullivan) of South Windsor, CT. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bacon Funeral Home (71 Prospect St, Willimantic, CT 06226). A Mass was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church (99 Jackson St, Willimantic, CT 06226). A burial was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at the St. Joseph Cemetery (61 Club Rd, Windham, CT 06280).
In lieu of flowers, Joan asked that you honor her by going for a walk, appreciating the beauty of the outdoors, and remembering the moments you shared with her.
