He was predeceased by : his parents, Anna Basile (Christopher) and Anthony Basile; and his former life partner Barbara A. Perdoni. He is survived by : his spouse Shirley Basile; his sister Mary Ann Giannelli (late Phil Giannelli) of Windsor Locks; his children, Ann Marie Campanelli (Tony), John A. Basile (Susan), Carol Iwanski (Dan) and David Richardson; his grandchildren, Nicholas Campanelli (Sarabeth), Anthony Campanelli, III (Nicole), John Anthony Basile, Jr. (Hayley), Adam Iwanski and Tamara Iwanski (Lizzy); and his great grandchildren, Franco, Anthony IV, Aubrey, Zachary and Oakley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (42 Spring St, Windsor Locks, CT 06096). A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
