He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Frances Russell; his parents, Iceline Russell and Leon Russell; and his brother Leon Russell Jr.. He is survived by: his son Michael Russell; his daughter-in-law Lizette Russell; his grandchildren, Michael Diaz-Russell (Taylor), Justice Diaz-Russell and Mia Maturo; his stepgranddaughter Jazline Nieves; his great grandchildren, Kaiden Diaz-Russell and Kareem Abdul-Muhaymin; his siblings, Viron Russell (Betty), Elaine Pertillar (Edward) of Windsor and Dawn Russell of Hartford; his close friend Willie Barnes; Ana Cruz-Diaz and Alison Maturo. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lodge 130 Deerfield Rd. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the The Lodge (130 Deerfield Rd, Windsor, CT 06095).
