He was predeceased by : his wife Geraldine Johnson (Cosseboom); his sisters, Mary and Peggy; his stepdaughter Kimberly Desmaris; and his grandson Todd Desmaris.

He is survived by : his children, Carol Johnson of Norwich and James William Johnson, Jr. of Windsor; and his grandchildren, Randy and Melissa Desmarais of Florida. He is also survived by two great grandchildren; several nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home (807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor, CT 06095).
