He was predeceased by: his parents, Petra Rodriguez and Concepción Nieves-Ayala; and his brother Juan "Polo" Nieves. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Nieves (Andrew) of Indian Orchard, Ramon L. Nieves of Hartford, Reinaldo Nieves of Hartford and Diane Wood; and his sisters, Hilda Solano (Paul), Iris Nieves-Cross (Walter), Luz Rivera (Victor) and Haydee Sierra (Raphael). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many extended family members and friends.
