He was predeceased by: his wife Ella R. Sweeney; his parents, Mary Sweeney (Bagnaci) and Clarence Edward Sweeney; and his brother Charles Sweeney. He is survived by: his siblings, Edna, Mary, Rose, Gloria Newth of Torrington and Richard Sweeney of Florida. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
