He is survived by: his wife Norma E. Riess; his sister Barbara Riess Stewart; his daughters, Constance Lynn Riess, Valerie Ann Riess Huntley and Erica Jean Riess Craft; and his grandchildren, Andrew Riess Huntley, Stephanie Huntley Manzi, Alexandra Craft, Francis Craft and Laura Craft. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
