She was predeceased by: her husband John P. McDermott; her parents, William Shopis and Eva Shopis (Matusavage); and her children, Diane Jacobs and Mark McDermott.
She is survived by: her sons, Paul McDermott (Sina) of Naugatuck, Kevin McDermott of Waterbury and Christopher McDermott (Carlos) of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
