It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alberta Paul (Washington, District of Columbia), who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Jones and Thelma E. Jones; her sisters, Josephine D. Jackson and Thelma R. Harrison; and her brother-in-law Claude Jackson.
She is survived by: her son James R. Stroy; her grandchild Jamael Stroy; her siblings, Ernestine M. Pierce of Mitchellville, Maryland, Merrill E. Jones, Joseph Jones, Jr., Stanley C. Jones of Washington, D. C. and Charlene Stevenson; and her brother-in-law James Pierce III.
A wake was held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church (3000 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20020). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
