She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Gaither, Sr.; her grandson Charles "Chase" Gaither III; her parents, Leroy Femister and Syrene Contee; and her sister Greta "Bunny" Contee Dickelson.

She is survived by: her children, Charles Gaither, Jr. (Megan) and Maia Alees Gaither; her siblings, Carolyn Dowdle, Howard Contee Jr., David Contee and Daniel Contee; her grandchildren, Ava Rose Walton and William "BeBe" Walton IV; and her niece Nicole Cooper.
