She was predeceased by : her parents, Rev. Wesley Corneilous Wheeler, Sr. and Viola J. Taylor; and her siblings, Lillian Taylor Johnson, Lesley and Roscoe Wheeler.

She is survived by : her husband William Anthony Hawkins, Jr. (Tony); her children, Ayanna, Keita and Okera; her children-in-law, Richard Crespo, Kelly Henderson Hawkins and Candice Evie Ortiz-Hawkins; and her grandchildren, Nasya, Sameina, Zuri, Osei, Onyx and Adiel.
