Barbara A. Rust Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara A. Rust of Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Coley Davis and Lucille Davis; her sisters, Elizabeth, Catherine, Norma and Colleen; her daughter Toni Ann Robinson (Vernon); her grandson Jacai D. Colson; and her former husband Philip M. Rust, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Philip M. Jr. (Toni), Adrienne L. Mercer and Sheila M. Colson (James); her grandchildren, Johnny M. Adams, Jr. (Diana), Bobby J. Allen, II (Frances), Jason C. Rust (Diana), Jurea Colson, Nathan Mercer, Terika Gruenwald (Jeff), Jovonne Alcalde (Edward), Ashanti Neches (Russell) and Makeeda Robinson; her great grandchildren, Will, Tony, Sydney, Brayden, Jacob, Ziya, Celia and Quentin; and her nieces and nephews, Sandra (Joseph), Crystal (Tony), Anthony, Michael, Joseph, Curtis, Donnell (Dorothy), Dwayne (Brenda), Wilbert and Brian (Kathy).
She was baptized at the Ebenezer AME Church in Washington, D. C. Later in life Barbara became a member of Zion Church, and during the Pandemic she continued to worship by listening to Zion's broadcast as well as attending Woodstream Church outdoor services.
