With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bartholomew McDonnell of Washington, District of Columbia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 24, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Bartholomew shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Bartholomew farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John McDonnell and Bella McDonnell; his former wife Jacqueline Sherry; his children, Mary Jean, Grace, Bart II and Christopher; and his wife Barbara Underwood.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory (1950 20th St, Vero Beach, FL 32960). A prayer was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (500 Iris Ln, Vero Beach, FL 32963).
