She was predeceased by: her son Gary Brooks; her parents, Elsie Brooks and Max Brooks; and her sisters, Adriene Brooks and Marilynn Brooks. She is also survived by six sisters, two brothers, a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
The lying in state was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Liberty Baptist Church (527 Kentucky Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
