Elinor leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Elinor’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Elinor will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her fathers, Harry Hopkins and Franklin Delano. She is survived by: her children, Lisa Brown, Sarah O'Hagan, Marcia Brown, Katherine Farquhar, Douglas Farquhar, Ned Farquhar, William Farquhar and Witt Farquhar. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bethlehem Chapel of the Washington National Cathedral (3101 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC 20016).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington National Cathedral Preservation Fund and or the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
