We announce the death of Faye Cook in Washington, District of Columbia, born in Sunbright, Tennessee, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 100. Faye will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Matthew Forrester and Lucy Wight; and her husbands, John Felix Sanders, Jr. and Gene Albert Cook. She is survived by: her children, John F. Sanders III (Linda), Anita S. Dickard (Wayne), Lucy S. Johnson (late Ronnie) and Matthew F. Sanders (Linda); and her stepsons, Sam Cook (Julie) of Burleson, TX and Phil Cook of Fountain Inn, SC. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Standard Cremation & Funeral Center (1621 Pearman Dairy Rd, Anderson, SC 29625). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the Sierra Baptist Church building program, 2800 Waccamaw Trl., Anderson, SC 29621.
