As Ferne Elizabeth departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Ferne Elizabeth. Though Ferne Elizabeth may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, G. Palmer Diehl and Marian Diehl; and her brother Carroll Diehl. She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Fine (Mark), Karen Fisanich, Frank Fisanich (Sarah), Forrest Fisanich (Melissa) and Kelly Waby (Derek). She is also survived by six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ukranian Catholic National Shrine (4250 Harewood Rd NE, Washington, DC 20017). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine or to a charity of your choice.
