She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence E. M. Brown Cooper and James H. R. Cooper, Sr.; and her husband Matthew A. E. Cummings, Sr.. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Asa, Alvin Cummings, Asha and Camille; her brother James H. R. Cooper, Jr.; her sons, Matthew (Euphemia), Fritz (Patricia), Harrington (late Marinda), Jenkins (Wede) and Lloyd; her nephew Edward B. Cummings (late Rachael); and her foster daughters, Gertrude Dweh-Brown and Minnie Wah-Jallah. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Spring Valley, New York, and also actively participated in The RSVP program and volunteered regularly at Summit Park Elementary School, Spring Valley, New York.
