He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Johnson and James Johnson; his parents-in-law, Wilester and Wilbert Fisher; his son Marc Johnson; his grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Jr. and Rickiaya Dupree; his daughter-in-law Benita Johnson; his brother-in-law Timothy Fisher; and his close friends, Milton Daniels and John'Shorty'Gillison, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Josie Johnson; his children, Jerome Johnson (Sharon), Carolyn Johnson, Michael Johnson, Debra Dorsey (Wilbur), Brian Hall (Bridgette), Jacquelyn Johnson, Aaron Bumbry, Shanika Robinson, Averill Johnson (Victoria) and Janay Johnson; and his sisters-in-law, Rhonda Ellis (Ronald), Linda Hill and Annette Fisher. He is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren.
