James Julius Booker Obituary
James Julius Booker passed away on April 15, 2017 at the age of 78. James was born on January 30, 1939 to the late Edward J. Richardson and Kimmie Booker of Orange, VA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Mae Booker (Chuggie), and uncles, Howard, Roy, Scott and Harry Richardson.
James was born and raised in Orange, VA and later moved to Washington D.C. James was educated in the Orange County School system and received technical training as a heavy equipment operator and worked for many years in construction at Saso Incorporated. James was an avid family man, gardener, cook, dog lover, machinery and car enthusiast. Juju was a super Redskins fan and loved watching and attending their games.
James leaves to Cheris his memories a loving wife, Mary Knight Booker of Washington D.C., former wife and friend, Elouise Poindexter Orange, VA, four brothers, Edward Richardson, Jr. of Orange, VA, Scott Richardson of Louisa, VA, David Hamilton of Maryland, and Edward Hamilton of Waldorf, MD. One sister, Jackie Rawlings of Connecticut. James leaves to cherish three children, Marilyn Booker-Harris, Lisa Booker-Ratliff (Bob Ratliff), James J. Booker, Jr., all of Orange, VA and a niece thought of as a daughter, Sharon Terrill (Clarence Terrill) of Orange, VA and half-daughter, Stephanie Poindexter of Fredericksburg, VA and four step-children. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Danielle Booker of Louisa, VA, Daryl Harris of Franklin, TN, Dustin "Mikey" Harris of Louisa, VA, and Kourtney Monroe of Orange, VA. He also cherished his great grandchildren, Jaydan Parks, Brooklyn Booker, and Destinee Burruss all of Louisa, VA.. Though he lived in D.C., James loved coming back to the country to see his beloved family, aunts and uncles, Mary Jean Comfort, Ruth McGhee, Nan Quarles, and Agnes Thomas, Lee Richardson, Jack Richardson, Romano Richardson and his brothers. James leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and four grand fur babies he cherished.
