He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hailes, Sr. and Ellen Hailes; and his siblings, Louise, Geraldine, Roger and Joseph.

He is survived by: his siblings, Mildred Lacy, Donell (Brenda), Julian, Edward, Stanley (Jacquelyn) and Larry (Lynn); and his aunt Carrie Diggs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
