He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Joseph Cleary and Alice Cleary (Benton); his siblings, Daniel J. (Annie), John Eugene (Dorothy), Robert E., Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Ritzert (Jack), Margaret "Mikey" Gray (Jack) and Alice C. Vermillion (Steve); and his nephew Stephen Vermillion.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Layman Cleary; his children, Kelly Hastings (Peter) and Andrew (Kelly); his grandchildren, Claire Hastings, Will Hastings, Maggie Cleary, Owen Hastings, Colin Cleary and Georgia Cleary; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Cleary, Ronald Reed Layman (Janice) and Helen "Dolly" Zeller (Layman). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
