We announce the death of Jeanette McKenzie Long of Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 96. Jeanette will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Hodges, Juanita Downey (Roland), Larry Long (Joan) and Jose Long (Brenda); her sister Geraldine Burrell; and her nephew Bryant Carter. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
