She was predeceased by: her parents, Mariana Granja Sánchez and Jose Matus Aburto. She is survived by: her daughter Gema; her grandsons, Oscar and Lucas; and her sisters, Martha and Maria. She is also survived by brothers; and a large community of extended family, friends, and children.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart (3211 Sacred Heart Way, Washington, DC 20010).
