He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Louise Pierrepont Muir; his children, John Dapray Muir, Jr. (Laurie) of Bethesda, Christopher Bryant Muir (Elizabeth) of Summit, NJ and Sophie Muir Rothschild (Christopher) of London, England.; his grandchildren, Avery Baldwin Muir, Caroline Pierrepont Muir, William Alden Muir, Julia Catherine Muir, Peter Angus Muir and Emily Pierrepont Muir; his siblings, Cassin Muir and Marilyn Muir Smith (Stephen); and his parents, Brockett Muir and Helen Dapray Muir.
