She was predeceased by: her parents, Ezekiel Benjamin Boyd and Pansy Scoville Boyd; her sons-in-law, Christopher Jones and Michael Scales; and her close friends, Sandra Burrus, Countess Clarke Cooper and Nadine Makala.

She is survived by: her sister Verdelle Boyd Jones of Woolwich; her sister-in-law Grace Lamothe of Silver Spring, Maryland.; her children, Beverly Cooper-Wiele (Jonathan) of Boston, William B. Cooper of Trappe, Muriel Cooper Jones of Capital Heights and Jennifer Cooper Scales of Landover, Maryland.; and her grandchildren, Michael Scales, Jeremy Scales, Barrington Cooper (Arielle), Charles Cooper (Siera), Adam Cooper (Chinaza), Myles Jones, Thomas Cooper, Lillian Cooper, Destinee Scales and Royal Scales.
