He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Alisa Wiener; his son Zachary; his grandchildren, Jillian and Lindsay; his parents, Joan Wiener and Stanley Wiener; his sister Cindy Abrams (Yaakov Abrams); his parents-in-law, Jerome, Barbara Lichtman and Elaine Lichtman; and his siblings-in-law, Aron Lichtman and Aviva Woodland.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Washington Hebrew Congregation (3935 Macomb St NW, Washington, DC 20016). A burial was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at the Remembrance Memorial Park (14321 Comus Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871).

In recognition of his contributions to that court, he received the Golden Eagle Award for sustained exemplary service, the prestigious Randolph Thrower Award for distinguished service to the Bar Association of the Court, and the James Madison Lifetime Achievement Award.
