He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Captain Robert M. and Dorothy A. Soule; his wife Sherry Soule; his daughter Kelly Murphy; his son-in-law Colin Murphy; his granddaughter Abigail Stokes; his grandson-in-law Nigel Stokes; his grandsons, Finnegan Murphy and Gavin Murphy; and his stepgrandson Ronan Murphy. He was also cherished by other family members and many friends.
