He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sherman and Rita Hardy; his brother Deon Holloman Jr.; his uncle Michael Larkins; and his aunts, Diane Bazemore and Sharon Williams.

He is survived by: his parents, Brenda Hardy-Holloman and Mark Chavis Sr.; his children, K'Mari Chavis and Zamir Jah-Chavis; his grandfather Deon Holloman Sr.; and his siblings, Arnold Venable "AJ", Andrea Hardy and Crystal Chavis.
