She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Shanker and Jeanette Shanker; and her husband Gerald Birnbach. She is survived by: her children, Jami Taff (Barry), Bruce Birnbach (Holly), Nina Patton (Ken) and Tom Birnbach (Stacy); her sister Eleanor Groper; her grandchildren, Sam (Esther), Brandon, Charlie (Amie), Jessi (Adam), Jake, Maggie, Lindsey (Chris), Michael, Chloe, Benny (Emily), Max, Nick, Jack, Nate and Tyler; and her great grandchildren, Grayson, Riley and Laney.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Washington Hebrew Congregation (3935 Macomb St NW, Washington, DC 20016).
