It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby C. Alexander (Washington, District of Columbia), who passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Ernest and Louise Johnson; her husband William Henry Alexander, Sr.; and her children, Virginia and Laretta.
She is survived by: her daughter Ruby; her sister Annie Rice; her children, Manhattan, LaVerne, Yvonne, William Jr. and Zsa Zsa; her grandchildren, Gregory, Ronda, Azia, Tijua, Derrick and Tyree; her great grandchildren, LaKia, Zoe and Kenzo; her great great grandchildren, Jolia, Jamiah and Jordan; and her sons-in-law, Sonny and Monroe. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Canaan Baptist Church (1600 Newton St NW, Washington, DC 20010). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
