He was predeceased by: his parents, James Russell and Audrey Mayberry Lucas; his daughter Brandy; and his brother Audie Lucas. He is survived by: his sister Sharon; his daughters, Erica Purvis (Justin), Teena Harrison (Brandon) and Domanique Strong (Marcus); his grandchildren, Nazareth Purvis, Payton and Israel Harrison; and his aunts, Augusta Jones of Wilson, NC, Katherine Lucas of Rocky Mount, NC and Freddie Lucas of Washington, D. C.. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Union Wesley AME Zion Church (1860 Michigan Ave NE, Washington, DC 20017). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
