“I attended seventh grade with Wanda in Livingston, Alabama. I am white and had moved to Livingston from San Juan, Puerto Rico which was a multicultural city. I watched her behave with great dignity every day as her books were thrown on the floor and she was verbally attacked. I did nothing to help her but I always admired her. Af few years ago I connected with her online but never followed through. Again, I failed to make the most of knowing such a proud and smart person. David Wise”
