She was predeceased by: her parents, Joeann Mickle and Charles Allen; her sons, Robert T. Simms and Darryl W. Simms; and her siblings, Gloria Brunson, Sylvester Mickle, Bettye Walton (Bill) and Alfreda Ferguson (Richard).

She is survived by: her children, Tanya Sanders and Damian Simms; her grandchildren, Andre K. Sanders, Tia N. Sanders, Darryl D. Ellis and Asia D.; and her siblings-in-law, Lorraine Neal, Vera Vaughns, Bettina McClendon and Ricky Simms. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
