It is with sadness that the passing of Betty Byrd of Bear, Delaware is shared. Betty, born on December 17, 1929 in Perryville, Maryland, passed away on September 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Betty will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Betty by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Betty is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Betty’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Jackson. She is survived by: her children, James Jackson Byrd Jr. (Phyllis), Eleanor Webster (Bill), Diana Haas (Dave), Robert Byrd (Joan) and Tricia Byrd (John Hopkins). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Beeson Funeral Home (2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Gracelawn Memorial Park (2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720).
