With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael J. Carney of Bear, Delaware, born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on February 18, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Carney (Givens) and Harry Carney; his wife Brenda J. Carney; and his brothers, Harry and Edward "Ebby" Carney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Denise Craft (Robert), Kathleen Denver (Brett), Michele Michalcewiz (Bill) and Melissa Carney (Mitchell Pope); his grandchildren, Christine Denton (Rob), Michael Craft (Amanda), Brenden Denver, Camryn Denver, Brynn Michalcewiz and Erin Michalcewiz; and his great grandchildren, Juliana, Robbie Denton, Liam and Emma Craft. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to spend time with your loved ones and enjoy a glass of Chivas or Guinness in Michael's name.
