With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Ellis Harris (Camden Wyoming, Delaware), born in Felton, Delaware, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 5, 2025 at the age of 101. He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Peter and Helen Harris; his wife Thelma Naomi Townsend; his daughter April; his grandson Brian; and his siblings, Louise, Lester, Isaac, Jr., Reynolds, Sr., William, Kenneth and James Henry.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia McManus (Charles) of New Castle, DE, Charles Mitchell of Wilmington, DE, Thomas Marshall (Linda) of Bear, DE, Madeline Joyce Hall of Chicago, IL and Tracey Rochelle Harris-Brown (David) of Frederica, DE; his brothers, Nelson (Eva) of Dover, DE and Paul of Felton, DE; his sisters-in-law, Marian, Agnes and Margaret of Dover, DE; his brother Larry Keller (Bonnie) of Frederica, DE; his nibling Innus Parker; and his extended family, Walter Carpenter (Evelyn) of Chicago, IL and Frances Green of Plainfield, NJ. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
