It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jameca Danielle Ortiga of Claymont, Delaware, born in Media, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 6, 2022, at the age of 39, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She is survived by: her sisters, JeNa Nickerson, Jakea Ortiga, Kimberly Marion and Hillary Allen; her aunts and uncles, Al Ricketts, Willie Ortiga, Anthony Ortiga Sr., Estelle Strand and Connie Ortiga; her nieces and nephews, Emaree, Elijah Nickerson Wright, Greyson, Jaxon Brown, Yomi Ogunfolu, Abigal, John Leonzio, Emma Michaud, Dylan, Lucas, Raelan Mackiewicz and Brandon Mercer; and her friends, Melissa Payor-Mackiewicz, Jo Ann Wilczynski Payor "Momma Jo", Brianna Rebisz, Marsha Fortunato, Teresa Michaud and Jameca.
Much like Meeka's heroism in 2001 after 9/11, she once again sprung to action when the covid-19 pandemic began in 2020. Jameca worked tirelessly treating those who suffered from this worldwide pandemic.
She volunteered to search the grounds for survivors and when they wouldn't allow her to do that, she donated blood and helped to gather supplies to assist by any means great or small.
