He was predeceased by: his parents, James Montgomery and Margaret Montgomery (Sheridan); his brother F. Patrick Montgomery; his stepdaughter Jennifer Duncan; and his siblings-in-law, Lyn Doto, Bill Doto and Rick Doto.

He is survived by: his wife Michele Fanny Montgomery; his brother Sean Montgomery (Eileen); his stepson Nicholas Toman (Laura); his grandchildren, Abbey Rhoads and Evan Toman; his son-in-law Russ Duncan; his siblings-in-law, Kathy Laffey Montgomery, Lori Doto and William S. Montgomery; and his nieces and nephews, Sheridan Pelegrin, Jamie Shay Montgomery, Christopher Patrick Montgomery and Matthew Montgomery.
