He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mathis and Tessie Mathis; and his siblings, Judy Jefferson, Steve and Jerry Mathis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Mathis and Crystal Mathis (Rob Hafer). He is also survived by five grandchildren and many nieces.
