She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles H. Powell and Clara Ann Powell (Knight); her husband Joseph E. Calhoun, Sr.; her grandson Joseph Calhoun, III; and her brothers, Charles and Watson Powell.
She is survived by: her son Joseph E. Calhoun, Jr. (Denise); her grandchildren, Michael Calhoun (Johanna) and April Hitchens; and her great grandchildren, Adler Calhoun, Marlee Calhoun, Oaklyn Calhoun and Ava Lathbury. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
